Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ready mix concrete ordering, volumetric batching on-site, delivery time slots, slump consistency, and concrete pump hire across Hemel Hempstead.
Common Questions & Answers
How does volumetric mixing save me money?
Because raw cement, sand, stone, and water are mixed fresh at your property, we only mix what your trenches and formwork actually require. You avoid paying for estimated surplus concrete and avoid costly waste return fees.
What is the minimum delivery quantity?
Our minimum order is just 1 cubic metre (1m³). Our trucks carry up to 10m³ of dry material, so whether you need a small garden path or multiple large foundation pours, we can supply it in one visit.
How far can your ground line pump reach?
Our ground line pumps can transport concrete over 150 metres horizontally through flexible steel and rubber piping. We can navigate tight doorways, garden fences, alleys, and internal staircases easily.
How much notice do you need for delivery?
We suggest booking 24 to 48 hours ahead to secure your preferred 2-hour morning or afternoon window. Same-day emergency pours across Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, and Dacorum are often available upon request.
Can I change the mix design on site?
Yes! That is the core advantage of volumetric batching. We can alter the concrete strength (e.g. from C20 to C30) or adjust the slump workability on-site immediately between different pour areas.
How do I properly cure my fresh concrete?
Concrete cures through chemical hydration rather than drying out. Keep the surface damp by misting with water and covering with polythene sheeting for 3–7 days to prevent shrinkage cracking and achieve maximum durability.
